“The Beginning” holds a special place in my heart as my very first oil painting, earning its name as a symbol of the start of my artistic journey. Inspired by Chauncey Ives’ renowned sculpture, Undine Rising from the Fountain, this work marked a pivotal moment, opening the door to discovering my true inspiration and artistic mission.
 
In 2024, during a period of pause in my artistic endeavors, a devastating event occurred—my basement was robbed, and all my supplies were stolen. Among the losses, the most heartbreaking was the damage inflicted upon this cherished painting. That time of upheaval, coupled with frequent moves and work obligations, left me unable to paint as much as I desired.
 
Yet, this tragedy also became a turning point. I began to see it as a sign to return to painting, to reignite the passion I had put aside. As a result, “The Beginning” once again lived up to its name, symbolizing not only the start of my career but also my rebirth as an artist.
